I’ve come to the Vineyard now for over 50 years, with one of my first memories being my dad waking me, in pigtails, at 5 AM to go fishing. I remember being bleary-eyed as he drove us in our beat-up yellow Jeep Wagoneer over the sand in thick fog. Eager with anticipation, I jumped out, grabbed my rod, squeezed myself into a line of weathered fishermen standing on the surf’s edge in their waders, and cast. Exhilarating moments like these, active in nature and the outdoors, inspire my work. We moved here after raising 5 children, and with adventures and moments to self-reflect abound, my creativity surfaced. The product? A new, authentic, nostalgic, happy self; grounded and reenergized to capture and share the island’s magic and essence.
